Amazing progress Eugine! Coming along nicely! The motion blurs were really well done, a lot of camera pans on still shots do look a bit odd, I don't know how you would achieve a 'boil' in stop motion but it could be worth an attempt to see whether it looks a bit less 'static'

My other advice is to make a 'clean plate' for each shot, this is where you stage the shot, without the characters so you can use it as a background in post (useful for deleting the bluetac in areas where you don't want it visible.

Eugine1a2b responds:

Thank you! Yeah I did have some trouble with the stills but I'll experiment with finding ways to boil. And yes, a clean plate seems like a perfect idea!

Such a beautiful style! I hope you do more of these, this is really fun

They killed Kolani! Those bastards!!

This is the best game on here, I laughed but then i got addicted.
Odio limpiar

this game was extremely difficult. It took me 2 weeks of leave off work but I finally did.

I really like the main characters animations. Would be cool to see some parallax in the background and some stronger idle animations for the enemies. Other than that game is pretty enjoyable, controls are tight etc. :) good work

Thanks!

Sean was such a fascinating person. To hear the journey of a fledgling studio and how to has grown and all the unique avenues Arcana has taken is really interesting. The foundation of developing IPs through comic books to animation is really cool and mentions of licensing themselves / sales in house. I feel like so much was talking about that usually isn't covered if anything the only thing I wish is that this interview lasted longer.
I did like the mantra "If you can't control process, you can't control outcome"
It's really amazing to me how diverse this industry is and how much wisdom there is in this podcast :D

terryibele responds:

Oh wow! I'm glad you got a lot out of this :)

I have an episode coming up next week with an employee of Arcana who shares how he ended up working there. If you're interested, stay tuned.

Haha firstly i did not put that together that your name comes out as a sort of pun that is hilarious.

This was actually my favourite episode so far. I really enjoyed the industry talk and the desire for transparency in general strokes not just with regards to industry practice but creatively speaking. Was super interesting to hear both of your thoughts on it.

I've got to say I got a decent kick out of the Canadian talk too funnily enough. As an Australian a lot of our tv was imported from CA but 'The Raccoons' did not make it over here so that was a great discovery for me lol.

Definitely going to look up sluglife and take the lesson on pacing to heart.
I think I have a habit of trying to emulate what I see on TV rather than celebrating my difference in sensibilities.
Was inspired hearing about the creation of Sublo and Tangy Mustard on top of Aarons day job. Although I was somewhat aware of the fact it only just clicked for me really listening to this. Its a pretty phenomenal feat to make a series on top of working as a director on a prime-time series.
I've got no excuses now better go make something :)

terryibele responds:

Hey! Thanks for listening and commenting. Glad you got a lot out of this episode.

The Raccoons is certainly a different type of show - it's about some forest creatures trying to save their home from a greedy corporation.

Best of success with your journey :)

This was a great episode!

For anyone else watching this is the video Matthew was referring to:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e1IxOS4VzKM
Rachel Bloom made it and got picked up as a writer on Robot Chicken.
I like the unapologetic optimism Matthew seems to embody.
"Make something that is yours" Is something that stuck with me.

I came for the alliteration and stayed for the awesome art.

I want to take the lil tophat frog and put him in my pocket. I'd take him everywhere and give him lots of treats.
